Dayton is one of the best bass towns in the South. Chickamauga Lake draws tournament anglers from across the country, and the Dayton Boat Dock is where most of Rhea County’s tournaments launch — with Watts Bar Lake and the Tennessee River a short run away.
Those boats go out before sunrise. That’s the whole reason our kitchen opens at 4 AM and never closes: so you can fuel up, grab hot biscuits and burritos for the livewell crew, fill a jug of coffee and be on the water before first light. Our lot has the room to swing a trailer through without a three-point turn, and the restrooms are clean at 4 AM, not just at noon.
Weigh-in day, festival week, or an ordinary Tuesday — we’re the last stop before the ramp and the first stop on the way home.

The Rhea County Courthouse — built in 1892 and now a National Historic Landmark — is where the 1925 Scopes “Monkey Trial” put this town on front pages around the world. Bryan College has looked down from its hilltop campus since 1930.
Every May the Tennessee Strawberry Festival takes over downtown, as it has since 1947, and the parade fills Market Street. On the water, Chickamauga draws anglers year-round. It’s a town of early mornings, long weekends and people who look out for each other.
